Making this their third stop at, in many eyes the most amazing venue in the country – Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Sublime with Rome are keeping the legacy of the infamous front man – of once mentioned the most success and influential ska-punk bands- Bradley Nowell, of Sublime alive.
Early Saturday evening brought opening acts- HB Surround Sound, the Descendants and Iration- who made this their first time stepping on the legendary stage. Just releasing their latest Album -Automatic on July 2nd, Iration is currently sweeping the states on the Automatic Tour; with their new tracks that put a new spin on what the fans are use to. With excitement and passion behind the music, the crowd fed off the vibes and energy soared to the sky.
Instant rage hit the stands the minute Rome Ramirez grabbed the mic and stepped into the lights; a long side original band mate formerly of the band Sublime -Eric Wilson and latest addition and member – drummer, Josh Freese. They opened the night with “Smoke Two Joints”(which over half the crowd already did within the first set of the night) and proceed to bring the classic hits that everyone knows and loves such as cover “Pawn Shop”,”Date Rape” and “Santeria” to name a few. Also, performing their latest jams off their 2011 debut Album “Yours Truly” they have the fans ingaged into the new formed sound of Rome as the front man.
We all know, no one will ever be able to replace Bradley Nowell and it will never be the same. However, Rome puts on an epic performance every time and I truly believe that the original members of Sublime couldnʼt of picked a better person to step up and keep the love of the music flowing through the dedicated fans veins.
Until next show…
